Introduction

Use the solution detailed below to correct the issue.Problem
The chrome hydraulic cylinder rod surfaces that have an insufficient rust preventive application may corrode during storage prior to shipment, and during marine transportation on the machines listed above. Chrome hydraulic cylinder rod surfaces not sufficiently protected from corrosive salt air exposure, and/or salt water environments, may result in visible rust, pitted chrome, and hydraulic oil leaks.Solution
Apply and maintain an approved rust preventative on all exposed chrome surfaces of hydraulic cylinder rods during storage. Reapply an approved rust preventative on all exposed chrome surfaces of hydraulic cylinder rods immediately prior to marine transportation.Refer to Special Instruction, SEHS9031 and Special Instruction, REHS5133 as needed for proper rust preventive application and maintenance instructions.
