Start By:a. release hydraulic system pressure1. Position the moldboard assembly on level ground. 2. Position Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to circle drive (1). Secure the suitable lifting device to a hoist. Remove nine bolts (2) and the washers from circle drive (1). Position circle drive to the side as shown. The weight of circle drive (1) is 272 Kg (599 lb).3. Repeat Step 2 for the remaining circle drive. 4. Mark and identify all hose assemblies for installation purposes. Disconnect hose assemblies (4) and (5) from block (3). Cap and plug all connections to avoid system contamination. 5. Disconnect hose assemblies (10) and (9) from swivel (6). Remove cotter (7), the washer, pin (8), and hose guide assembly (11) from swivel (6). Remove hose guide assembly (11) with the base assemblies from the drawbar assembly. 6. Loosen two nuts (13) from two square head setscrews (12) and slightly back off two square head setscrews (12) from drawbar assembly (14). 7. Remove three bolts (17), the washers, circle guide shoe (16), shims (15), and wear strip (18) from the drawbar assembly.8. Repeat Steps 6 and 7 for the remaining circle guide shoes. 9. Retract the blade lift cylinders and disconnect drawbar assembly (14) from circle assembly (19). Position a suitable lifting device to drawbar assembly (14) as shown. 10. Remove three wear strips (20) and six bolts (22) from segment (21).
If any segments have been replaced all wear strips must be replaced.
11. Position Tooling (B) to segment (21) as shown. Using Tooling (B), loosen segment (21) from circle assembly (19). Using two people, remove segment (21) from circle assembly (19). The weight of segment (21) is 45 Kg (100 lb). 12. Remove two dowels (23) from circle assembly (19). The following steps are for the installation of the segment.13. Make sure all components of the segment are clean of dirt and foreign material prior to installation.14. Check all components for wear or damage, and replace if necessary. 15. Install two dowels (23) to circle assembly (19). Using two people and a hammer, install segment (21) to circle assembly (19). 16. Apply 1P-0808 Grease to three wear strips (20). Install three wear strips (20) and six bolts (22) to segment (21). Tighten six bolts (22) in an alternate sequence to 360 60 N m (265 44 lb ft). Tighten six bolts (22) an additional 120 degrees. 17. Remove the suitable lifting device from drawbar assembly (14). Using machine power, extend the blade lift cylinders and connect drawbar assembly (14) to circle assembly (19). Use shims (15) as required to obtain a maximum of .5 mm (.02 in) clearance between the wear strips and the segment. For the correct adjustment procedures for the circle drive, refer to the topic "Blade Circle" in the 24H Motor Grader, Operation & Maintenance Manual.18.
