Remove the hood.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Cut the cable strap and disconnect harness assembly (1). Note: Do not attempt to pry or pull the tab out of the connection on diesel exhaust fluid line (2), as damage will occur. Push down on the fitting and push the tab inward before pulling out in order to disconnect diesel exhaust fluid line (2).
Disconnect diesel exhaust fluid line (2).
Disconnect hoses (3).

Remove bolts (4) and the washers. Remove diesel exhaust fluid injector (5).

Remove gasket assembly (6) from diesel exhaust fluid injector (5). Installation Procedure
Install diesel exhaust fluid injector (5) in the reverse order of removal.
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of bolts (4).
Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 5.0 0.5 N m (44.25 4.42 lb in).
Tighten bolts (4) again, to a torque of 5.0 0.5 N m (44.25 4.42 lb in). Turn bolts (4) an additional 90° 5°.
Apply Tooling (B) to the O-ring seals inside diesel exhaust fluid line (2).
