D311, D320, D330, D333, G333, D334, D336, D342, G342, D343, G343, 3304, 3306, 3406, 3408, And 3412 Engines Equipped With PSG GovernorsDescription of Change: The PSG governor cases have recently been changed from aluminum to cast iron to improve reliability. To optimize the interchangeability of the Woodward PSG components, an internal return spring was designed. As a result of the new design, units with the external return spring will be discontinued. The new PSG governor has internal return springs that are functionally compatible with their external counterparts. The use of the internal return spring eliminates various external components associated with the external return spring. The new PSG governor will be supplied with 9.53 mm (.375 in) SAE 36 serrated and grooved terminal shafts. This new terminal shaft on the PSG governor will require a new terminal shaft lever. There are two other major changes to the Woodward PSG governor. Not all Woodward PSG models are effected equally. Refer to the chart to determine applicability.
A .438-20 UNJF cover drain port is now standard for all horizontally mounted PSG governors. This change will result in a new drain line configuration for horizontally mounted PSG governors only.
A permanent magnet (PM) speed setting motor provides a means of remote speed adjustment for the Woodward PSG governor. The PM motor replaces the series wound electric motor. The PM motor operates on DC power. If a 115 volt (AC) power source is used, it must be converted to a 24-32 volt (DC) current.
Adaptable To: The former PSG governors are canceled and replaced by the new PSG governors. Due to the configuration changes required to make these modifications, some of the new PSG governors are not directly interchangeable with existing aluminum case PSG governors. Refer to the chart for specific parts required.
