Oil pressure should rise within 15 seconds after the engine starts. Do not increase engine speed until the oil pressure gauge indicates normal. If oil pressure is not indicated on the gauge within 15 seconds, DO NOT operate the engine. STOP the engine, investigate and correct the cause.
To avoid possible engine damage or another immediate shutdown, the engine oil pressure fault must be corrected before attempting to restart the engine.
Allow a cold engine to warm up at LOW IDLE for at least five minutes.
Look at the gauges and indicator lights frequently during operation.
If the alternator indicator lamp remains illuminated, inspect the machine for the cause of the trouble.
If any gauge moves into the red zone, stop the machine and investigate the cause, if necessary.Note: If the engine does not start after several attempts, do not continue. Find the cause.
