incomplete or old versions cause the installation of Oracle to exit silently without completing correctly. Removing Oracle and references to Oracle from the registry will resolve this issue.Perform the following procedure to remove Oracle from a machine:
Uninstall all Oracle components using the Oracle Universal Installer (OUI).
Click "Start" and "Run" to open a command prompt. Type "regedit.exe" and press enter. Delete the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ORACLE" key. This log contains registry entries for all Oracle products.
Delete any references to Oracle services left behind in the following part of the registry:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Ora*"Note any services for Oracle that exist. Remove those services by opening a command prompt. type the command "sc delete <serviceName>" and press enter.
If Step 3 was performed, proceed to Step 5. Otherwise, reboot the machine.
Delete the "C:\Oracle" directory. In another directory was used, delete "ORACLE_BASE" from that appropriate directory.
Delete the "C:\Program Files\Oracle" directory.
Empty the contents of the "c:\temp" directory.
Empty the recycle bin.
Delete the contents of "c:\documents and settings\<user>\local settings\temp" as this action may aid the user in viewing any failures in the subsequent install as logged to "pid<nnnn>.log)" directory.
Delete any registry entries other than "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ORACLE".
