Remove bolts (5) and the washers from the rear of side panel (6) .

Remove bolts (7) and the washers from the front of side panel (6). Remove side panel (6) .

Disconnect brake supply line (8) from the drum. Use Tool (B) to cap the port. Hand tighten Tool (B) on the port. Then, loosen the cap by one-half turn. Some oil may escape from the port when the brake seats. Contain any leakage, and dispose of the oil in accordance with local regulations and mandates. Use Tool (C) to plug the hose.

Note: Hose (9) and hose (10) are disconnected from the block in the next two steps in order to isolate the axle pump from the drum pump. The test block contains balance orifices.
Disconnect hose (9) from the test block. Use Tool (E) to plug the hose. Use Tool (D) to cap the port.
Disconnect hose (10) from the test block. Use Tool (E) to plug the hose. Use Tool (D) to cap the port.
Assemble Tool (G) .

Remove plug (11) from port "M4". Install Tool (F) in port "M4".
Remove plug (12) from port "M5". Install Tool (F) in port "M5".Note: Port "M4" and port "M5" are connected in the next step in order to disable the axle pump.
Connect one end of Tool (G) to Tool (F) in port "M4". Connect the other end of Tool (G) to Tool (F) in port "M5".

Connect one Tool (B) to each of the following pressure taps:
Forward pressure tap "AF" (13) for the axle pump
Reverse pressure tap "AR" (14) for the axle pump.

Remove locknut (15) and washer (16) at the bottom of bracket (17). Remove bolt (18), washer (19), and washer (20) from the bracket. Move tie rod (21) out of the way. Note: The locknut must be replaced before reassembly. Do not reuse the original locknut.
Move engine start switch (4) to the START position. Release the switch when the engine starts.

Move shift switch (22) to the HIGH SPEED position.
Operate the engine at low idle for a few minutes. Move throttle switch (3) to the HIGH IDLE position.
Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature with Tool (K). Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches 43 6 °C (110 10 °F).

Axle Pump is Shown From Right Side
Loosen locknut (23). Watch the pressure on the gauges. If necessary, rotate adjustment screw (24) until the pressure is equal on both gauges.
Rotate adjustment screw (24) clockwise until the pressure at forward pressure tap "AF" (13) just begins to increase. Note the angular position of the wrench.
Rotate adjustment screw (24) counterclockwise until the pressure at reverse pressure tap "AR" (14) just begins to increase. Note the angular position of the wrench.
Rotate adjustment screw (24) to the center of the two positions noted above. Hold the adjustment screw in place and tighten locknut (23) to a torque of 31 to 50 N m (23 to 37 lb ft).Note: Make sure that the pressure does not change when locknut (23) is
