ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to the machine Operation and Maintenance Manual and the Disassembly and Assembly Module for any necessary procedures. Replace the components as described below.
Replace the former 8X-8273 Hose As in the 8X-0232 Hoist Oil Lines Gp with the new 299-0697 Hose As. Replace the former 6V-8636 Connector and the former 6V-8397 O-Ring Seal in the 8X-0232 Hoist Oil Lines Gp with the new 6V-9873 Connector and the new 6V-8398 O-Ring Seal. Replace the former 6V-8724 Elbow and the former 6V-8397 O-Ring Seal in the 8X-0232 Hoist Oil Lines Gp with the new 8T-6876 Elbow and the new 6V-8398 O-Ring Seal. The new 6V-8398 O-Ring Seals are for the face seals. The O-rings for the straight thread have not changed. The new parts are direct replacements for the former parts. The new parts are adaptable back to the beginning of production of the machines.

SAFETY - 793B Hoist Control Pilot Lines can be Connected Improperly

A new hoist control pilot line and related fittings need to be installed on the products listed below to prevent the hoist control valve pilot lines from being connected improperly during machine service. Improper connection may result in unexpected dump body movement and personal injury or death.
You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 20Oct2006 when scheduling this service.
