(1) All of the guide pins are available. The particular guide pin that is required depends on your application.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Illustration 1 g00556435Note: The later vibration dampers have finned covers. Be careful not to damage the fins.
Remove two bolts (2) that hold vibration damper (1) to the shaft. Install Tooling (A) in the holes.
Remove the remainder of bolts (2). Carefully move vibration damper (1) onto Tooling (A) to pass a suitable lifting device through the center of vibration damper (1).
Attach a suitable lifting device to vibration damper (1). The weight of vibration damper (1) is approximately 188 kg (414 lb). Remove vibration damper (1).

Remove two of the bolts that hold adapter (3) in place. Install Tooling (B) in the holes.
Remove the remainder of the bolts. Carefully move adapter (3) onto Tooling (B) to pass a suitable lifting device through the center of adapter (3).
Attach a suitable lifting device to adapter (3). The weight of adapter (3) is approximately 30 kg (66 lb). Remove adapter (3).Note: For information on rebuilding vibration dampers, refer to Reuse and Salvage Guidelines, SEBF8152, "Procedures to Rebuild Vibration Dampers for 3600 Family of Engines".
