Fuse "F5" (8) distributes power from the switched bus to contact "85" of generator relay (10). When generator control switch (14) is in the ON position, left operator ECM (16) reads a complete circuit at terminal "J2-29". In this situation, the left operator ECM sends a signal via the CAT Data Link and the CAN lines to machine ECM (17). In this case, the machine ECM sends an engine speed request to engine ECM (15) through the Cat Data Link. When the generator is on, the engine ECM increases the minimum idle speed at 1275 rpm. When the generator control switch is in the ON position, the machine ECM sends a ground signal from terminal "J2-9" to contact "86" of the generator relay. This ground signal energizes the coil of generator relay (10) .When generator relay (10) is energized, the generator excitation circuit is complete across contact "30" and contact "87" of the relay. This completed circuit causes the generator to produce power.Note: On generators configured to produce power at 50 Hz, contact "30" of the generator relay is connected to the red wire going into the "E+" terminal of the circuit board, and contact "87" of the relay is connected to the terminal marked "E+" on the circuit board. On generators configured to produce power at 60 Hz, contact "30" of the relay is connected to the red wire going into the "110V" terminal of the circuit board, and contact "87" of the relay is connected to the terminal marked "110V" on the circuit board.When tool enable switch (13) is in the ON position, terminal "J1-63" of machine ECM (17) is connected to ground. In this case, the machine ECM prompts engine ECM (15 ) to maintain the engine speed at 1100 rpm for 50 Hz systems and at 1275 rpm for 60 Hz systems.
