MODELS INVOLVED - 319D, 320D, 321D, 323D, and 336E Excavators
Dear Caterpillar Product Owner:
The ring gear for the final drive needs to be replaced on certain 319D, 320D, 321D, 323D, and 336E Excavators. The existing final drive ring gear may crack at an early stage and malfunction, if it is not replaced with a new ring gear. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 09Aug2011 when scheduling this service.
