Push to Edge
Illustration 65 g06350471
"Push to Edge" screen
Push to edge process is the simplest to set up. This process should be used when pushing spoil material over a crest, into a void. The design plan loaded from the Terrain server should terminate at a flat surface. In this mode, the user will define a depth to dig to and a crest location. The crest location is where the dozer will begin to detect the crest or cliff. In this mode, the dozer is tuned to push spoil material over the crest, building out the crest location as it works. The dozer will not be allowed to dig below the target surface in this mode, if one is loaded. The push to edge process can have multiple mission design points as shown here, but only the crest point is part of a push to edge mission. The crest point is shown in the slot view (C) as the red vertical line. The crest point will continue to advance forward as the machine works automatically. The user may artificially limit how far the crest can advance with the max crest ext field.Downhill Tip Head
Illustration 66 g06350472
"Downhill Tip Head" screen
The downhill tip head process is very similar to the push to edge process. But should be used when the intention is to build a spoil pile with the uphill tip head or back stack process later. This process mainly differs from push to edge as it allows the user to intentionally shape a spoil pile. If the pivot point is defined (optional in this process), the system will not allow the dozer to leave material at a higher elevation than target elevation past the pivot point. This allows the system to intentionally shape the spoil with minimal rehandle. Illustration 66 shows the downhill tip head design points.Pivot point is option in this process. The low wall point is not. The low wall must be known so the system knows where the edge of the work area is. If a pivot point is not defined, this process will operate identical to push to edge.If a pivot point is defined, the system will not allow the dozer to leave material above the target design to the right of the pivot point. This allows the system to intentionally shape the spoil.Uphill Tip Head
Illustration 67 g06350473
"Uphill Tip Head" screen
The uphill tip head process is used after a void has been filled or if there no void to work over. This process will allow the user to build a spoil pile from ‘front to back’. In this process, the pivot point is required to be defined. The machine will start building a ramp at the pivot point and continue to push over the top, building as it works to the target design. Just like the downhill tip head process, the machine cannot build higher than the target surface after is passes the pivot point.Cut limit in this process is optional. This point will prevent the machine from engaging the ground
