This procedure outlines the method to test the rotary position sensor in the deceleration/brake pedal. The rotary position sensor creates a modulated reduction in machine speed when the decelerator/brake pedal is depressed.Required Tools

Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.
Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

After the engine has operated at low idle for 5 minutes, move engine start switch (3) to the OFF position.

Insert the black spoon of Tool (B) into pin "B" of decelerator/brake pedal connector (4).Note: The C241-BK(Black)wire connects to pin "B" on the decelerator/brake pedal connector.
Insert the red spoon of Tool (B) into pin "C" of the decelerator/brake pedal connector (4).Note: The G745-PK(Pink)wire connects to pin "C" on the decelerator/brake pedal connector.
Set Tool (A) to read "Duty Cycle".Test Procedure
Move engine start switch (3) to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
The value on Tool (A) should be 81 5 percent. If the value is outside the specified range, go to Step 8.

Slowly and steadily depress decelerator/brake pedal (5) against the stop. Observe reading on Tool (A). The value should steadily increase as the decelerator/brake pedal is moved down. The value should not stop increasing until the decelerator/brake pedal reaches the stop. When the decelerator/brake pedal is against the stop, the value on Tool (A) should be 20 5 percent. If the value is outside the specified range, go to Step 8.
Slowly and steadily release decelerator/brake pedal (5). Observe reading on Tool (A). The value should decrease as the decelerator/brake pedal is moved up. The value should not stop decreasing until the decelerator/brake pedal reaches the stop.
Move engine start switch (3) to the OFF position.
Remove the tooling.
If the readings on Tool (A) are within the specified ranges, the rotary position sensor is operating correctly.
If the readings on Tool (A) do not steadily change through the full range of the decelerator/brake pedal, troubleshoot the electrical circuit for the decelerator/brake pedal rotary position sensor. Refer to Troubleshooting Manual, UENR1230, "Electrical and Hydraulic Systems".
If the readings are not within the specified range, troubleshoot the electrical circuit for the decelerator/brake pedal rotary position sensor. Refer to Troubleshooting Manual, UENR1230, "Electrical and Hydraulic Systems".
