To prevent personal injury, release the pressure from the hydraulic system before any hoses are disconnected or removed.
1. Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank. The capacity of the hydraulic tank is 53 liter (14 U.S. gal.). 2. Disconnect hose (1) at the tee on steering relief and flow control valve (3).3. Disconnect tube (2) at the tee on steering relief and flow control valve (3).4. Disconnect hose (5) at the fitting on steering relief and flow control valve (3).5. Disconnect tube (4) at the elbow on steering relief and flow control valve (3).6. Put protective plugs in the hydraulic openings.7. Remove the three bolts that hold steering relief and flow control valve (3) to the bracket, and remove it.8. Install steering relief and flow control valve (3) in the reverse order of removal.9. Remove the protective covers, and connect the tubes and hoses to the valve.10. Fill the hydraulic tank to the correct level. See the Maintenance Guide.11. START BY:a. remove steering relief and flow contro valve 1. Remove flow control valve (1) from body (2).2. Remove relief valve (3) from body (2).
Do not hold body (10) of flow control valve (1) in a vise because this will cause distortion of body (10).
3. Remove O-ring seal (5), O-ring seal (7) and the back-up ring and O-ring seal (8) and back-up ring.4. Install a rod through body (10) and valve (6), and remove cap (4).5. Remove spring (9) and valve (6). Be sure the orifice in valve (6) is not restricted.6. Clean all parts, and check for wear or damage.7. Put clean hydraulic oil on valve (6), and install it in body (10). Valve (6) must move freely in body (10).
Do not hold body (18) of relief valve (3) in a vise because this will cause distortion of body (18).
8. Remove O-ring seal (15) and O-ring seal (19) and the back-up ring.9. Hold body (17) in a vise, and remove plug (11).10. Measure and record the depth of seat (13) in body (17). Remove seat (13) from body (17).11. Remove spring (14) and seat and valve (16). Be sure the orifice in valve (16) is not restricted.12. Clean all parts and check for wear or damage.13. Put clean hydraulic oil on valve (16), and install it in body (18). Valve (16) must move freely in body (18). Only the O-ring seals, back-up rings and plug (11) are serviced. Wear or damage to any component of flow control valve (1) or relief valve (3) will make it necessary to replace the complete valves.Assemble Steering Relief And Flow Control Valve
1. Put clean hydraulic oil on valve (6), and install it into body (8).2. Install spring (4) and the seat.3. Install seat (3) to its original depth in body (7).4. Install a new O-ring seal (2) on plug (1), and install plug (1) into body
