The Engine Oil Temperature Sender provides measurements of the engine oil temperature after filtering. The Engine Oil Temperature Sender also aids in the detection of degraded of the oil cooler performance. Temperatures that are greater than 107°C (225°F) will have a negative impact on the engine life.A resistive signal which corresponds to the oil temperature is sent from the sender to the Main Display Module. Typically, the resistance range of the sender is 70 to 800 Ohms (Ohms).
