Remove the steering clutch hubs. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Clutch Hub - Remove and Install".

Bend all of locks (1) straight.
Put a wood block under the bevel gear in the bevel gear case.Note: The wood block is used as a support for the bevel gear and a stop in order to hold the gear when nuts (2) are loosened.
Loosen nuts (2) .

Remove the bolts that hold cage (3) in position.
Install two 3/8 inch - 16 NC forcing screws in cage (3) .
Tighten the screws evenly until the cage is loose.
Remove cage (3) and shims (4) .Note: Put identification on the shims for correct installation.
Remove nuts (1), the bolts and the locks that hold the bevel gear to the bevel gear shaft.
Remove the bevel gear and the shaft.
Remove the other cage from the bevel gear case by using Steps 4 through 7.

Remove the bearing cups from the cages with tool (A) .

Remove the two bearings from the bevel gear shaft with tool (B) .
