PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
1) Cover all glass and plastic with paper, masking tape and weld blanket to avoid any damage from grinding and welding process. Refer to Image 1.1.1 for the area to be filled in with weld.

2) Clamp a copper backing strip to keep the filler weld flush on the far side of the bracket. Refer to Image 1.2.1.

3) Fill the area of the bracket hole with weld where excessive grinding has taken place.
4) Grind the front surface of the bracket flush.
5) Grind out the edges to the original cut-out dimensions (24mm wide x 20mm high, +/- 1.5mm). Refer to Image 1.4.1.

6) Touch-up the bare metal with gray primer and allow to dry.
7) Touch-up the repairs with high-gloss black paint and allow to dry.
8) Re-assemble the striker after 20 minutes of dry time.
9) Adjust the door as required.
10) Clean-up all grinding dust and remove all masking material.
