Control panel screen (7) Drilling icon (8) Drill to collar button
Press the green button (6) on the control panel screen in order to start the auto drill sequence. When collaring of the hole is started, the collaring icon (5) will be displayed. Refer to Illustration 4.No inputs are required in order to configure the parameters for collaring or the collaring distance. The auto drill feature continuously determines the required pressure for rotation and the pulldown force by using a built-in algorithm. The auto drill feature checks whether the ground is suitable for drilling before the system switches to the drilling mode. When the auto drill feature is switched from the collaring mode to the drilling mode, the drilling icon (7) will be displayed. At any time during the drilling operation, the operator can press the drill to collar button (8) in order to force the system back to the collaring mode. The system would remain in the automatic mode. The collaring icon would replace the drilling icon. This feature is useful when the ground is fractured or when fine turning of the controls for drilling is required. The operator can press the collar to drill button (4) while the drill is collaring in order to force the drill back into the drilling mode.

Before the bit is raised in the automatic mode, ensure that the deck fork is fully retracted. If the deck fork is inserted, the stabilizer or the bit will hit the bushing of the deck. This may cause damage to the deck fork.
Once the target depth is reached, the drill system prompts the operator to raise the bit in automatic mode. Ensure that the deck fork is fully retracted. Illustration 6 shows the deck fork that is fully retracted. Illustration 7 shows a deck fork that is fully inserted.
