Then perform this procedure.Ensure that you have repaired any condition that would cause other active diagnostic codes that are related to this position sensor. The following diagnostic codes are not active when the CID 0353 FMI 13 is active.

The sensor needs to be adjusted.
The ECM has been flashed with new software.
The sensor has failed.

For example, the CID 0353 FMI 03 or FMI 04 are not active when the CID 0353 FMI 13 is active. If the other diagnostic codes are active, troubleshoot those codes first. NOT OK - The CID 0353 FMI 13 diagnostic code is still active.Repair: The diagnostic code is still active. Verify that the correct software has been flashed into the ECM, or that the correct ECM is installed on the machine.If the diagnostic code is still active and the cause of the diagnostic code is not found, the ECM may have generated this diagnostic code in error. It is unlikely that the ECM has generated this diagnostic code in error.Exit this procedure and perform this procedure again. If the cause of the diagnostic code is not found, the ECM may need to be replaced. Prior to replacing an ECM, always contact your dealership for possible consultation with Caterpillar.
