Refer to Illustration 8. Disassemble the machine as necessary in order to gain access to slotted hole (19). The slotted hole is located below the hydraulic pump.

Refer to Illustration 9. Mark the position for three holes. Drill the three holes 10.5 mm (0.40 inch) in diameter and tap the three holes for a M12 x 1.75 mm (0.07 inch) thread.

Refer to Illustration 8 and Illustration 10. Weld plate (1) in position in the corner of the swing frame as shown. Provide 5 mm (0.2 inch) fillet welds as shown in Illustration 10.

Refer to Illustration 11 and Illustration 12. Disassemble the machine as required in order to gain access to the side of the hydraulic tank. Loosen the filler cap on the hydraulic tank, then tack weld plate (2) in position. Weld the plate in position. Provide a 4 mm (0.16 inch) fillet weld between point A and point B. Provide a 5 mm (0.2 inch) groove weld between the plate and the adjacent bar. Weld in stages in order to minimize heat input to the hydraulic tank. Grind the 5 mm (0.2 inch) groove weld flush.Note: Plate (2) allows the existing bracket (20) to be mounted approximately 48 mm (1.9 inch) further forward.

Assemble the hood loosely to the machine and check the location of plates (3), (4) and (5). When you are satisfied that the alignment is correct, fully weld the plates in position.
When all welds have cooled, remove the debris from welding and paint the welded areas.
Refer to Illustrations 13, 14, 15 and 16 for the assembly of the new parts. Due to the fact that the holes for mounting the plates have not been made during production, you may need to enlarge some of the holes in plates (7), (8), (9), (10) and (11) .
Make sure that the hood is properly supported while you install the new gas spring assemblies and the mechanical support. Ensure that the hood can not fall while the new components are being installed.
