(1) Air compressor governorThe air compressor mounts the left side of the engine block. The air compressor governor (1) controls the operating pressure for the air system .The air compressor governor (1) senses air pressure in the air tank. The air compressor governor (1) will stop the supply of air from the air compressor to the air tanks, when the air pressure in the air tank is above the minimum cut-in pressure. The air compressor continues to operate while the engine is operating.The piston in the air compressor governor (1) is returned by the force of the spring in the air compressor governor (1), when the air pressure in the air tanks lowers to the minimum cut-in pressure. The air flow from the air tanks to the unloading valves of the air compressor is blocked. The unloading valves of the air compressor close and the air compressor delivers air to the air tanks.When the air pressure in the air tanks obtains the maximum cutoff pressure, the pressurized air moves the piston in the air compressor governor (1) against the spring. This allows air to flow from the air compressor governor (1) to the unloading valves of the air compressor. The compressed air acts against the unloading valves. The pressurized air holds the unloading valves open. With the unloading valves in the OPEN position, the delivery of air from the air compressor is blocked.
