1. Remove the coolant from the engine cooling system. Capacity is 10.5 U.S. gallons (39.7 litre). 2. Use tool (A) to remove oil filter (3).3. Loosen clamps (1) and slide the hose on to pipe (4). Remove bolt and clip (2) to disconnect the oil line.4. Remove bolts (6) that hold elbow (8) to cooler (5) and the support bracket bolts. The lower bolt in the elbow next to the cylinder block has a 3/8" head on it for socket clearance. 5. Remove the bolt that holds pipe (4) on the opposite end of oil cooler (5) to the cylinder block.6. Remove oil filter base (7), pipe (4) and oil cooler (5) as a unit. 7. Remove bolts (9) and (10) and make a separation of pipe (4), oil cooler (5) and oil filter base (7).Install Engine Oil Cooler
Before the cooler is installed clean the tube bundles in the core assembly with a .125 in. (3.12 mm) diameter rod. 1. Install oil filter base (1) on engine oil cooler (2) with bolts (3). 2. Install pipe (5) with bolts (4) on the engine oil cooler. 3. Put the pipe, oil cooler and oil filter base in position on the engine and install the bolts that hold oil cooler (2) to elbow (7).4. Install the bolt that holds the pipe to the cylinder block.5. Slide hose (6) forward and tighten clamps (8). 6. Install oil filter (9). Follow the instructions on the filter for the correct installation.7. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. See LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE.
