(7) Port "G" Oil from the steering manifold flows to sidecutter manifold (1). This component is located under the operator platform, on top of the hydraulic tank. Sidecutter manifold (1) contains components used to control the sidecutter system. Sidecutter system pressure can be measured at port "G" (7).The sidecutter control valve is controlled by the sidecutter ECM. This valve is controlled by two solenoids. Sidecutter up solenoid (5) causes the sidecutter to raise. Sidecutter down solenoid (6) causes the sidecutter to lower. The sidecutter control valve directs oil to one end of the sidecutter hydraulic cylinder while opening the other end to the hydraulic tank.Main relief valve (2) limits sidecutter system pressure to 10000 1000 kPa (1450 145 psi). When the main relief valve is open, sidecutter system oil flows into the hydraulic tank.The shuttle valve (not shown) compares the pressure at the rod end of the cylinder and the pressure at the head end of the cylinder. The highest pressure signal is sent to main relief valve (2).Counterbalance valves (3) and (4) ensure the sidecutter hydraulic cylinder will not move unless pressurized oil is in one end. When steering oil is made available to one end of the sidecutter cylinder, this pressure shifts the counterbalance valve on the other end of the sidecutter cylinder. This shift opens the other end of the sidecutter cylinder to the hydraulic tank.A check valve (not shown) is installed in parallel with each counterbalance valve. This check valve prevents hydraulic oil from flowing out of the sidecutter cylinder unless the corresponding counterbalance valve is open.Sidecutter Spray Solenoid

(8) Sidecutter spray solenoid Sidecutter spray valve (8) is located on the top of the machine frame, above the front drum. A trim panel must be removed to access this component.The sidecutter ECM controls sidecutter spray solenoid (8). When the machine determines that the spray system is operating and the sidecutter is lowered, the sidecutter ECM energizes the solenoid on the sidecutter spray valve. When this action happens, the spray system provides water pressure for the sidecutter spray nozzle.
