Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the rear drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft (Rear) - Remove and Install".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the hydraulic oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change".

Remove bolts (3) and floorplate (2). Remove floor mat (1) .

Remove bolts (5) and place plate (4) to the side.

Open drain valve (6) in order to drain the residual oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Disconnect hose assembly (7). Disconnect harness assembly (8) .

Disconnect hose assemblies (9) and (11). Disconnect hose (10) .

Attach a suitable lifting device to piston pump (13). The weight of piston pump (13) is approximately 50 kg (110 lb). Remove bolts (12). Lower piston pump (13) out of the machine.
