Master-Slave Interface
The electronic gauge modules were designed to operate as a stand alone, "Master Only" system or as a "Master-Slave" system. The Master panel should be located on the Engine Accessory Module or at distances up to 100 meters (333 ft) from the engine.When the Master panel is mounted away from the accessory module, wiring should be installed in metal conduit. Care should be taken to install all sensor wires in conduits separate from wires operating at high current voltage greater than 24 volts (DC or AC), or powering solenoids or other devices with collapsing magnetic fields. Also, avoid the possibility of inductive coupling.For Master-Slave installations, the Master panel may be located as described above.The Slave panel should be located within 305 meters (1000 ft) of the Master. The Slave panel can access all of the same data as the Master. It can also be used to acknowledge alarms, change alarm/shutdown setpoints or examine diagnostic memory.A second set of modules provide the slave readings. The second set of modules are programmed to operate as slave modules by changing a flag value within the modules. Refer to the topic Setting Alarm, Shutdown and Flag Values in this publication for additional information. Modules No. 6, 7, 8 and 9 are the "Slave" equivalents of Modules No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 in the "Master" panel.
