PROBLEM
The existing 8S-0768 Seal can leak on certain 988H Wheel Loader, 834H Wheel Dozers, and 836H Landfill Compactors.

988H Reference Literature:
For the cab tilting procedure, refer to RENR2173 "988G Wheel loader Machine Systems" Disassembly and Assembly for the cab raise/lowering procedure.
For transmission modulating valve remove and install, refer to RENR6206 "988H Wheel Loader Power Train Disassembly and Assembly".
834 and 836 Reference Literature:
For the cab tilting procedure, refer to RENR2183 "834G Wheel Tractor and 836G Landfill Compactor Machine Systems" Disassembly and Assembly for the cab raise/lowering procedure.
For transmission modulating valve remove and install, refer to RENR6356 "834G Wheel Tractor and 836G Landfill Compactor Power Train Disassembly and Assembly".
In order to raise the cab, a 170-7117 Bracket Assembly (from an 834G, 836G, or 988G) needs to be used. If a 170-7117 Bracket Assembly can not be acquired, one can be ordered from the part system. (The cost of the bracket is not part of this program.)
1. Raise the cab to access the transmission control valves.
2. Clean the control valve area thoroughly to prevent contaminating the valves during the seal replacement.
3. Replace the seal on all 6 transmission modulating valves using the high temperature 6D-7889 Seal.
4. Lower the cab.
