Removal Procedure
Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and radiator cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Cooling System Conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Raise hood (1) by activating switch (2). Turn battery disconnect switch (3) to the OFF position.
Drain the engine cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining procedures.

Loosen clamp (4) and disconnect hose assemblies (6) and hose assembly (5).

Disconnect harness assembly (7), hose (8), bolts (9), and radiator top tank (10).Installation Procedure
Install radiator top tank (10) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten clamps (4) to torque of 7.5 N m (66 lb in).
Tighten bolts (9) to torque of 30 N m (266 lb in).
Fill the engine cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct filling procedures.
