Removal Procedure

B - Loctite 263 - Start bya. Connect the steering frame lock.
Park the machine on a flat, level surface. Lower the bucket to the ground. Chock the wheels to prevent the machine from rolling when the drive shaft is removed.

Remove bolts (3) and straps (2) from center drive shaft (1). Position center drive shaft (1) out of the way. Remove bolts (4).

Use two people to remove front drive shaft (5). The weight of front drive shaft (5) is approximately 39 kg (86 lb). Remove bolts (7) and straps (6). Remove front drive shaft (5).

Remove bolt (8) and retainer (11). Remove yoke (9).
Remove pillow block bearing (10) from front drive shaft (5).Installation Procedure
Install front drive shaft (5) in the reverse order of removal.

Apply Tooling (A) to front drive shaft (5) in the area marked (X) prior to installing carrier bearing (10).
After carrier bearing (10) has been installed onto front drive shaft (5), tighten the setscrew until the setscrew bottoms into the keyway. Back off the setscrew 1/2 turn. If carrier bearing (10) has a jam nut, tighten the jam nut to a torque of 24 4 N m (212 35 lb in).
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolt (8). Tighten bolt (8) to a torque of 120 20 N m (89 15 lb ft).
Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 71 10 N m (52 7 lb ft). Tighten bolts (3) in an X pattern.
