start by: a) separation of front and rear frames1. Remove spacer (1).2. Remove the fastening bolts (2) and the lower cap (4).3. Remove the upper cap (3).4. Remove lip-type seals from caps (3) and (4). 5. Put a floor jack in position under lower pivot pin bearings. Push the two bearing cones and the lower bearing cup out of the frame and onto the jack. Remove the bearing cones and lower cup (5). 6. Push the upper bearing cup (6) out of frame.7. Remove the two lip-type seals from each side of the upper pivot pin bearing. 8. Install tool setup (A) and remove the upper pivot pin bearing.Install Pivot Pin Bearings
1. Use dry ice to lower the temperature of the upper pivot pin bearing, and install the bearing in the frame.2. Install the seals on each side of the upper pivot pin bearing with lips (spring side) of seals away from bearing. Put a multipurpose type grease on the lips of seals and on the upper pivot pin bearing.3. Install the seals in the upper and lower caps of the lower pivot pin bearing so the lip of seal will be away from bearing cones when cap is installed.4. Put multipurpose type grease on the lip of seals and on the bearing cones and cups of the lower pivot bearing. 5. Install the upper bearing cup (1) in the frame.6. Put the two bearing cones and lower bearing cup on the floor jack. Using the jack, put the bearing cones and cup into position in the frame. 7. Put upper cap (2) in position on frame.8. Put lower cap (4) in position and install four bolts equally spaced. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 65 5 lb.ft. (9,0 0,7 mkg). Check to be sure lower cap (4) is tight against frame.9. Using a thickness gauge (3), take a measurement of the distance between the cap (2) and the frame at each of the bolt locations.10. Remove the four bolts and lower cap. Remove upper cap.11. Install the upper cap (2) with shims equal in thickness to the average distance measurement between cap and frame. 12. Put the lower cap (4) in position and install the twelve fastening bolts.13. Install the upper spacer (5). end by: a) connection of front and rear frames
