Diagnostic Lamp
Use the following procedure to obtain active diagnostic codes with a diagnostic lamp:Note: It is not necessary for the engine to be running in order to obtain diagnostic codes.
Turn the engine control switch to the ON position. The diagnostic lamp will illuminate for approximately five seconds. This is a self-test for the circuit. The diagnostic lamp will then produce a series of flashes.
Count the number of flashes. The first series of flashes represents the first digit of a diagnostic flash code. After a two second pause, a second series of flashes will occur. The second series of flashes represents the second digit of the flash code.
Record the two-digit number. Any additional active diagnostic codes will be displayed in the same manner. The diagnostic lamp will continue to flash while any diagnostic codes are active.
