PRIORITY - PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR REPLACING MOUNTING BOLTS ON THE POSITIVE CABLE PASS THROUGH BLOCK ON CERTAIN D6T LGP, D6T XL, AND D6T XW TRACK-TYPE TRACTORS
MODELS INVOLVED - D6T LGP, D6T XL, AND D6T XW TRACK-TYPE TRACTORS
Dear Caterpillar Product Owner:
The existing 8C-6364 Bolts, on the positive cable pass through block, need to be replaced on the products listed below. The bolt heads extend 1 to 2 millimeters above the surface height of the pass through block. This creates the possibility of arcing between the bolt head and positive cable terminal mounted on the pass through. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 19Jul2012 when scheduling this service.
We regret the inconvenience this may cause you, but urge you to have this service performed as soon as possible to prevent unscheduled downtime.
