Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Remove power to the speed sensor.

Remove tube assemblies (5) from metering pump (4).
Disconnect harness assembly (3) from camshaft speed/timing sensor (2).
Loosen nut (1). Remove camshaft speed/timing sensor (2).
Rotate the engine in order to align the magnet with the hole in the camshaft cover.
Remove metering pump (4). Remove adapter (6).
Remove the magnet (not shown). Installation Procedure

Rotate the engine in order to align the magnet's position with the hole in the camshaft cover.
Apply Tooling (A) to the new magnet. Install the magnet.
Install adapter (6). Ensure that the magnet is lined up with the hole in the camshaft cover.
Screw in camshaft speed/timing sensor (2) until the sensor contacts the magnet. The sensor should then be loosened 3/4 turn.
Tighten locknut (1) to a torque of 45 7 N m (33 5 lb ft).
Connect harness assembly (3) to camshaft speed/timing sensor (2).
Install metering pump (4) and tube assemblies (5).
Connect power to the speed sensor.
