This diagnostic code is set active when the Implement ECM determines that the voltage of the Joystick Lift position sensor output signal is above normal.Possible causes for this diagnostic code are:
A problem in the sensor power supply input circuit.
The sensor has failed, or is disconnected.
There is an open in the sensor circuits.
The sensor output circuit is shorted to +battery.
The Implement ECM has failed, but is unlikely. Note: Poor connections are often the cause of a problem in electrical circuits. Before performing this procedure, inspect all the machine harnesses and connectors involved in the circuit. Make sure to verify that all of the connections in the circuit are clean, secure, and in good condition. Correct any problems found with any of the connections. Verify the diagnostic code CID 0352 FMI 03 is still active, before continuing with this procedure.Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore all the created diagnostic codes now, but clear all those codes after the cause for the original diagnostic code has been corrected. System Response:
The machine Lift functions will be disabled.Note: The machine Lift functions will be disabled until this diagnostic code is cleared, and the machine joystick is again centered.Test Step 1. CHECK SENSOR POWER.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.
Do not disconnect the sensor harness connector.
At the connector for the sensor, measure for a DC voltage, from contact A (wire 106-WH(White)) to contact B (wire 953-GY(Grey)), on the sensor connector. Expected Result:The voltage is system voltage.Results:
YES - The voltage is system voltage. Go to Test Step 2.
NO - The voltage is not system voltage. There is a problem in the power supply circuits of the Joystick Lift position sensor in the machine harness.Repair: Refer to the complete Electrical System Schematic of the machine. Investigate the problem, and repair or replace the harness as needed.Go to Test Step 5.Test Step 2. CHECK THE SENSOR, THE ECM, AND THE MACHINE HARNESSES.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the harness connector from the Joystick Lift position sensor.
At the harness connector of the Joystick Lift position sensor, place a jumper wire from the contact for wire H723-PU(Purple) to the contact for wire 953-GY(Grey) in the sensor harness connector.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.
Observe the status of the CID 0352 FMI 03 code. Expected Result:The diagnostic code stays active and unchanged. Results:
YES - The CID 0352 FMI 03 code stays active and unchanged. The sensor is not causing the problem. Go to Test Step 3.
NO - The CID 0352 FMI 03 code is no longer active and has been replaced by a new, and active, diagnostic code. The Implement ECM, and the harness, are correct. The sensor has failed. Repair: Replace the sensor. Go to Test Step 5.Test Step 3. CHECK THE SENSOR OUTPUT CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN.
