Remove Transmission And Torque Converter Charging Pump
1. Drain the oil from the power train tank. The capacity of the tank is 40 U.S. gal. (151 litre).2. Put identification on the oil lines for correct installation. 3. Disconnect oil lines (1), (2) and (3) from the charging pump. 4. Remove two nuts (5) and washers that hold the charging pump to the pump drive.5. Use two persons and remove charging pump (4) from the pump drive. The weight is approximately 60 lb. (27 kg).Install Transmission And Torque Converter Charging Pump
1. Make sure the O-ring seal on the front of the charging pump is in position. 2. Put charging pump (1) in position and install two washers and nuts (2) that hold it in place. 3. Connect oil lines (3), (4) and (5) to the charging pump.4. Fill the power train to the correct level. start by:a) remove transmission and torque converter charging pump For easier assembly, put a mark on the outer surface of each of the body assemblies of the pump to show their original location. 1. Remove bolts (1) and two plain washers from the rear of the pump. 2. Remove four bolts (2), four plain washers and eight neoprene washers that hold the pump together.3. Remove cover assembly (3) from the body assembly. 4. Remove O-ring seal (4) and lip type seal (5) from cover assembly (3). 5. Remove O-ring seal (6) and two bearings (7) from the opposite side of cover assembly (3). 6. Remove manifold assembly (8) and transmission body assembly (9) as a unit. 7. Remove transmission body assembly (9) from manifold assembly (8). 8. Remove O-ring seal (10) and two bearings (11) from manifold assembly (8). 9. Remove two gears (12) from the gear assemblies and converter body assemblies and converter body assembly (13). 10. Remove driven gear assembly (15) from the back side of the converter body assembly.11. Remove key (14) from the drive gear assembly. Remove the drive gear assembly (16) from the back side of the converter body assembly. 12. Remove O-ring seal (17) and two bearings (18) from converter body assembly (13).Assemble Transmission And Torque Converter Charging Pump
1. Make sure all of the parts of the charging pump are clean. Put clean hydraulic oil on all the parts of the pump. Inspect all O-ring seals for damage and make a replacement if needed.
Make sure the joint in both bearings (3) is in the correct location. The location of the joint is an angle of 30° 15° from the center line of the two bearing bores in the direction of groove (1) in surface (2).
2. Install two bearings (3) into manifold assembly (4) with tooling (A). The distance from the top of the bearing to surface (2) after assembly is .063 in. (1.6 mm).3. Install O-ring seal (6) on manifold assembly (4).4. Install transmission body (5) in its original position on manifold assembly
