Verify that all the components of the tire and rim assembly are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.
Inspect all components for wear and replace the components, if necessary.Note: The rim mounting surfaces must be free of paint and grease.

Position the lift truck so that the forks are under the tire and rim assembly. Position a lifting sling around the tire and rim assembly and secure the lifting sling to the lift truck, as shown. Position the tire and rim assembly on the wheel assembly.
Severe injury or death can occur if the inside tire and rim is removed completely from the wheel assembly before it can be fastened to the mast of the lift truck.To avoid injury or death from a crushing injury, secure the inside tire and rim to the lift truck before removal from the wheel assembly.
Reposition the lift truck, suitable blocking, and the lifting slings to position the inner tire and rim assembly to the wheel. The weight of the inner tire and rim assembly is approximately 1180 kg (2600 lb).

The tire and rim assembly can also be installed by using a tire handler, as shown.

Apply Tooling (B) to the face of the hard washers and the threads of the full nuts.
Install 14 full nuts (4) and the hard washers to the tire and rim assembly. Tighten full nuts (4) to a torque of 1210 100 N m (892 74 lb ft).

Install clamp (3), four bolts (2), and the hard washers to the wheel.

Typical Example
Apply Tooling (B) to the face of the hard washers and the threads of the full nuts.
Install 14 full nuts (1) and the hard washers to the tire and rim assembly. Tighten full nuts (1) to a torque of 1210 100 N m (892 74 lb ft).
Use Tooling (A) to lower the rear of the machine to the ground. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1328, "Lift Group (Stand - 60 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A).End By:
