Use tooling (C) and a suitable press to install a new bushing (29) and seal (28) into steering case (26).

Use tooling (C) and a suitable press to install dust seal (27) into steering case (26).

Install O-ring (25). Use a hammer and a punch to install spacer (24).

Raise the temperature of roller bearing cone (22) and install the roller bearing cone. Note: Raise the temperature of the roller bearing to a maximum of 135 °C (275 °F).

Lower the temperature of bearing cup (21) and install the bearing cup into hub (17).
Use tooling (B) and a suitable press to install seal (23) into hub (17).

Turn hub (17) to the opposite side. Reduce the temperature of bearing cup (20) and install the bearing cup into hub (17).

Install hub (17) onto steering housing (26). Install bearing cone (18) in order to hold hub (17) in place.

Install locking plate (15) into position inside ring gear (13). Use tool (A) to install snap ring (14).

Install shim pack (16) into position on locking plate (15). For proper shim pack thickness, refer to Testing and Adjusting , SENR5839, "Wheel Bearings - Adjust".

Place ring gear assembly (13) into position. Apply 9S-3263 thread lock to eight bolts (12). Install eight bolts (12). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 285 15 N m (210 11 lb ft).

Install two bearings (10) and O-ring (11) onto pin (7).
Install three gears (8) and three thrust washers (9) into gear carrier (3).
Place pin assemblies (7) into position. Use tooling (C) and a suitable press in order to install three pins (7).

Use tool (A) to install the snap ring (6). Check that the three gears (8) rotate freely.

Install O-ring (5) onto hub (4).

Attach a suitable lifting device to gear carrier (3) and install the gear carrier onto hub (4). The weight of the gear carrier is 20 kg (45 lb).
Install two socket head bolts (2).
