Use a stable work platform placed in a secure location when lubricating the pillar, working on the fuel tank, or working on the hydraulic tank. If a secure location is not available, use the appropriate safety equipment to prevent falling off of the machine. Failure to work from a secure location may result in injury or death from a slip or a fall.

Service PositionNote: In order to clean the extendable stick, use an external platform that enables three-point contact at all times.Two chains are used for extending the stick and for retracting the stick. One chain is located on the top of the boom. The other chain is located on the bottom of the boom.
Extend the boom to the farthest position in order to expose the chains. Remove all dirt and debris from the chains. Spray the chains with a clean, nonflammable solvent. Brush any remaining dirt from the chains.
Inspect the chains for damage. Replace the chains, if necessary.
