1. Locate paver to a flat level surface. Position master links (1) as shown.
The track tension circuits contain trapped oil under pressure. The removal of any fittings before releasing the trapped oil pressure can result in personal injury. To prevent personal injury, perform Releasing Track Tension, (Trapped) Oil Pressure, located in Systems Operation Testing And Adjusting Propel Systems Manual prior to any tests, or removal of any fittings in the track tension circuits.
2. Refer to Systems Operating Testing and Adjusting, Propel Systems, Releasing Track Tension (Trapped) Oil Pressure to release track tension.
Raising hopper allows clearance for working on track components. Secure hopper with chain whenever working on track components.
3. Fold-up hopper and support with chain. 4. Remove two nuts (2) and remove track pad (3) above master link (1). 5. Remove four bolts (4) and remove backing plate (5).6. Start engine and move paver slowly back off track. The following steps are for the installation of the track and will require two individuals. One to operate the machine controls and the other to use tool (B) for track installation. 7. Attach tool (A) to rear master link (1). Use adjustable length chain (6) with tool (B). Start engine and drive track over the sprocket (7).8. Utilize a bar to support track by placing it across propel planetary and rear track carrier roller. Drive track over rear track carrier roller.9. Reposition bar across front and rear track carrier rollers. Drive track over front carrier roller.10. Reposition bar across front track carrier roller and front idler group. Drive track over front idler group.11. Compress track tension cylinder so master link (1) can be attached. Attach master link (1). 12. Install backing plate (5) and install four bolts (4). 13. Install track pad (3) and install two nuts (2). 14. Remove chain and fold-down hopper.15. Refer to Systems Operating Testing and Adjusting, Propel Systems, Track Tension Test, to adjust track tension.
