start by: a) remove timing gear coverb) remove fuel injection pump housing and governor as a unitc) remove fuel transfer pump 1. Disconnect the sensing line for fuel pressure (1), return line for fuel (2), supply line for fuel (3), and drain line for fuel (4) from housing for fuel filter and housing of accessory drive.2. Remove the nut, washer, and sleeve from the drive gear for the shaft of accessory drive. 3. Use tool setup (A) to remove the gear of accessory drive. 4. Remove the four retaining bolts (5), two locks, and retainer (6).5. Remove the housing of accessory drive.6. Remove the shaft of accessory drive from housing. 7. Use puller (B) to remove bearing (7) from the shaft of accessory drive.Install Accessory Drive Shaft
1. Heat the bearing for the shaft of accessory drive to 300°F (149°C). Install the bearing on the drive shaft. 2. Install shaft of accessory drive (1) in the housing of accessory drive. 3. Put the housing of accessory drive in position on the engine, and install the retainer, locks, and retaining bolts. 4. Put sleeve (2) and gear of accessory drive (3) on the shaft. 5. Install the washer and nut (4). Do not tighten nut (4) until installation of housing of injection pumps.6.
