Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Use Tool (A) to install two bearings (1) in the oil pump housing. The position of the bearing joint (2) must be within 30 15° of the centerline. The bearings must be installed so that the bearings are flush with the oil pump housing.
Install the dowels in the oil pump body. Install the dowel so the dowels extend 6.40 mm (0.252 inch) above the surface of the oil pump housing.

Put clean engine oil on the inside diameter of the bearings in the oil pump body. Put clean engine oil on shaft (3) and shaft (4).
Install shafts (3) and (4) in the oil pump housing.

Use Tool (A) to install two bearings (5) in cover (7), if the cover is equipped with bearings. The position of the bearing joint (6) must be within 30 15° of the centerline. The bearings must be installed so that the bearings are flush with the cover. Put clean engine oil on the inside diameter of each bearing.

Install cover (7) on the oil pump housing.
Install plunger (8) and spring (9) in the oil pump housing. Install retainer (10).

Install key (11) in shaft (4).

Install gear (13) on the oil pump shaft. Install bolt (12) and tighten the bolt to a torque of 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft).
The engine oil pump must turn freely after assembly. End By:
Install the engine oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pump - Install".
