Installation of heat shields is still recommended for best service life of the rear mounts. The new mounts contain an improved rubber compound that has better resistance to high temperatures and will provide longer service life.Adaptable To: The new 7C3567 Mount Assemblies can be used as direct replacements for the former 1N3166 (canceled) and 8N111 Mount Assemblies. Two are used in the engine rear support group. Caterpillar recommends that the fabricated engine heat shields be installed if the new mounts are used. See reference article.
