1. Drain the coolant below the level of the water temperature regulator housings.2. Loosen the clamps and move the two hoses (2) up off each regulator housing. 3. Remove the two tube assemblies (1).4. Use tool (A) to remove coolant filter (3) from the regulator housing on the left side of the machine. 5. Disconnect elbow (4) from water temperature regulator housing (5).6. Remove elbow (4) from pipe (6).7. Remove water temperature regulator housing (5). 8. Remove elbow (7). 9. Remove water temperature regulator housing (8).Install Water Temperature Regulator Housings
1. Install water temperature regulator housing (1) with a new gasket.2. Install elbow (2) with new gaskets. 3. Install water temperature regulator housing (4) with a new gasket.4. Put clean engine oil on the seals on pipe (5). 5. Put elbow (3) on pipe (5).6. Connect elbow (3) to water temperature regulator with a new gasket.7. Install coolant filter (6) on water temperature regulator housing (4). 8. Connect the two tube assemblies to the radiator top tank with new gaskets.9. Move the two hoses down on to the water temperature regulator housings and tighten the clamps.10. Fill the cooling system according to the MAINTENANCE GUIDE.Disassemble Water Temperature Regulator Housings
start by:a) remove water temperature regulator housings 1. Remove regulator (1) from housing (2).2. If necessary, remove seal (3) from housing (2). 3. Remove plug (4) from the regulator housing. 4. Remove spring (5) and ball (6) from the regulator housing. 5. Use a hammer and punch to remove the pin from knob (7) and the valve. Remove knob (7) from the valve. 6. Remove bolt (8) and the washer from regulator housing (2). Pull valve (9) out of housing (2). 7. Remove the O-ring seals from valve (9).Assemble Water Temperature Regulator Housings
1. If necessary, make a replacement of the coolant filter stud in housing (1). Put 9S3263 Thread Lock on the threads of the new stud that is installed in housing (1). Tighten the new stud to a torque of 60 7 N m (44 5 lb.ft.). 2. Install O-ring seals (3) on valve (2) and put clean engine oil or coolant on them. Install valve (2) in housing (1). 3. Install the washer and bolt (4) to hold the valve in housing (1).4. Put knob (5) on the end of the valve and install the pin to hold the unit together.5. Install ball (8), spring (7) and plug (6) in the regulator housing. 6. Use tool group (A) to install the seals in the regulator housings. Make sure the lips of the seals are toward the inside of the housing as shown. Put clean engine oil or coolant on the lip of the seal. 7. If necessary make a replacement of ferrule (10). Install the ferrule with the orifice toward the inside of the housing.8. Install regulator (9) in the housing as shown.end by:a) install water temperature regulator housings
