Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. In order to prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing, adjusting or working on any hydraulic components.
a. Move the machine to a smooth, hard and dry horizontal surface. Move away from working machines and personnel. Lower the blade or attachment to the ground. Stop the machine.b. Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel either away from the machine or in view of the operator.c. Engage the parking brake. Put blocks in front of and behind the wheels.d. Push the brake pedal many times until there is no more brake oil pressure.e. When the blade or attachment is raised for test, adjustments or maintenance, make sure that the blade or attachment has proper support. The lift circuit has high oil pressure when the lift arms raise the front of the machine. Do not stop the engine with the front of the machine off of the ground, unless a system test requires it. Lower the front of the machine to the ground and stop the engine.f. Install the steering frame lock link so the machine can not turn.g. Move the hydraulic control levers to all positions in order to release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Place the tilt control in the FLOAT position. Place the lift control in the HOLD position.h. Carefully loosen the fill cap on the hydraulic tank in order to release the pressure in the tank.j. Make sure that all hydraulic pressure is released before any fitting, hose or component is loosened, tightened, removed or adjusted.k. Tighten the fill cap on the hydraulic tank. 2. Disconnect hydraulic lines (2), (3) and (4) from supplemental steering pump and valve (1). There are four bolts and washer per each line. Disconnect electrical connector (5). 3. Disconnect pilot line (6) from pump and valve (1). Disconnect tank line (7) from pump and valve assembly. 4. Remove two bolts and washers (8) holding pump and valve assembly (1) to the support bracket. 5. Support the pump with a suitable strap and lifting device. Remove four nuts and washer (9) securing pump and valve assembly (1) to transfer gear box assembly (10). Remove pump and valve assembly. Weight of the pump assembly is 35 kg (75 lb). 6. Remove diverter valve (11) from pump by removing four bolts and washer (12). Valve weight is 20 kg (44 lb). Install supplemental steering pump in reverse order.7. Inspect the condition of all O-rings and seals prior to installation. Replace if necessary. Refer to the Operation & Maintenance Manual for all fluid capacities and the proper filling procedures.8. Check the fluid level in the hydraulic tank.Disassemble & Assemble Supplemental Steering Pump
