HOUSING AS-OSCILLATING AXLE 3312629 - Caterpillar

Start By:
Remove the gear pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, " Gear Pump (Pilot) - Remove". Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: Place identification marks on all sections of the pump prior to disassembly. The pump MUST be assembled in the same configuration.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove O-ring seal (1) from flange (2).

Remove bolts (3).

Separate flange (2) from pump body (4).

Remove two-piece seal pack (5) from the face of flange (2).

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove retaining ring (6) from flange (2).

Use Tooling (B) in order to remove seal (7) from flange (2).

Remove pressure plate (8) from pump body (4).

Remove gears (9) and (10) from pump body (4).

Remove pump body (4) from pump housing assembly (11).

Remove pressure plate (13) from pump body (4). Note: The grooved portion of pressure plate (8) and (13) faces the gears.
