Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Plug and cap all open ports and tube assemblies.
Disconnect the hose assemblies from the turbocharger inlet and the turbocharger outlet. Refer to the Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) for the correct procedure.
Disconnect the exhaust tube assembly. Refer to the OEM for the correct procedure.
If the turbocharger has an exhaust elbow, remove the exhaust elbow. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Elbow - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

Disconnect hose (16) from actuator (15).
Follow Step 5.a through Step 5.c in order to remove tube assembly (12) from turbocharger (1).
Remove banjo bolt (2) and remove sealing washers (3) (not shown).
Remove banjo bolt (10) and remove sealing washers (11) (not shown).
Remove tube assembly (12).
Follow Steps 6 through 6.d in order to remove tube assembly (9) from turbocharger (1).
Remove bolts (8).
Remove bolts (13).
Remove tube assembly (9) from turbocharger (1) and the cylinder block.
Remove gasket (7) (not shown) and gasket (14) (not shown).
Remove nuts (4) from studs (5). Remove turbocharger (1) from the exhaust manifold . Note: Ensure that the weight of the turbocharger is supported as the nuts are loosened.
Remove gasket (6) (not shown).
If necessary, remove studs (5) from the exhaust manifold.
