Remove O-ring seal (10) and sleeve bearing (11) from the rear support.
If necessary, remove the two locating dowels from the rear support.

Remove sixteen bolts (12) and the washers from cover (13) .

Attach a suitable floor jack to cover 13. Use two 7/8" - 9 NC forcing bolts to loosen the cover from the rear axle housing. Tighten the forcing bolts evenly in order to loosen the cover. Remove the cover. The weight of the cover is 64 kg (141 lb). Remove the O-ring seal from the cover.Installation Procedure

Install the O-ring seal on cover (1) .
Attach cover (1) to a suitable floor jack.
Place cover (1) in position on the rear axle housing. Install the sixteen bolts and the washers that hold the cover. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 475 50 N m (350 37 lb ft).

Install sleeve bearing (3) in the rear support. Sleeve bearing (3) must make contact with the counterbore in the rear support.
Install the O-ring seal in the rear support.
Install the two locating dowels if the dowels had been removed. The dowels must protrude 55.6 1.5 mm (2.19 0.06 inch) above the outside surface of the rear support.
Attach rear support (4) to a suitable floor jack. Place the rear support in position on cover (1) .

Use Tooling (A) to lower the machine onto the front support and the rear support. Install the eight bolts, the washers, and the nuts that attach the rear support to the rear main frame. Install the washers and the nuts that attach the front support to the rear main frame. Tighten the twelve nuts to a torque of 1125 100 N m (825 75 lb ft).
Connect the tube assembly to the grease fitting that is located on top of the rear support.
Install the thrust bearing in the rear support.

Place plate (5) in position on the end of cover (1). Install the twelve bolts and the washers that hold the plate in position. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 270 25 N m (200 18 lb ft).

Apply 7M-7260 Liquid Gasket to the mating surfaces of cover (6) and the rear support. Install the cover on the rear support. Install the twelve bolts and the washers that hold the cover in position. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 270 25 N m (200 18 lb ft).
Install the oil drain hose., End By: Install the crankcase guards. Refer to 988F 3408 Engine Supplement For Wheel LoadersSENR5725, "Crankcase Guards - Install".
