769C, 773B and 777 TrucksThe 6S7772 Sensor Assembly (magnetic pick-up switch for the speedometer) installs on the governor cover of the transmission for the above models. To make sure the sensor will activate at the correct rpm and still have enough clearance during operation, correct adjustment during assembly is important.
Use the procedure which follows to make the adjustment: 1. Install the sensor in the governor cover. Tighten (turn clockwise) the sensor until it just makes contact with the governor idler gear. (Make sure the sensor does not extend into one of the three holes in the gear).2. Then, backout (turn counterclockwise) the sensor 3/4 turn (270°) and tighten the locknut.
