E441(1) Idle Elevated to Increase Battery Voltage The battery voltage is below 24.5 VDC for five minutes. The engine speed is increased to 1000 rpm. The code is logged. Probable Causes
This condition is normal operation. One of the following features may be causing the elevated idle:
"Low Battery Elevated Idle"
"Cool Engine Elevated Idle"Use Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) to verify that the engine is in elevated idle. Elevated idle is indicated in the upper part of any status screen.Conditions
"Low Battery Elevated Idle"
The engine idle speed will be elevated to 1000 rpm when all of the following conditions occur:
"Low Battery Elevated Idle" is enabled.
A valid throttle position is present. The throttle position has not exceeded 25 percent of full throttle for five minutes.
The transmission is in neutral.
The parking brake is engaged.
A valid engine speed is present.
System battery voltage is below 24.5 VDC for five minutes."Cool Engine Elevated Idle"
The engine idle speed will be elevated to 1000 rpm when all of the following conditions occur:
"Cool Engine Elevated Idle" is enabled.
The coolant temperature is less than 70 °C (158 °F).
The inlet manifold temperature is less than 5 °C (41 °F).
A valid throttle position is present. The throttle position has not exceeded 25 percent of full throttle for five minutes.
The transmission is in neutral.
The parking brake is engaged.
A valid engine speed is present.
