1. Remove guards (1), (2) and (3) from the track roller frame.
The adjuster cylinder for the tracks is under high hydraulic pressure. Do not visually inspect the relief valve to see if grease is released. Check the adjuster cylinder to see that it moves to the rear into the front pilot of the recoil spring. Use this warning any time the track is loosened or tightened.
2. Open relief valve (4) to release the tension on the track. See, LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE. 3. Put tool (A) in position under the track as shown. Lift the track of the track carrier roller.4. Loosen bolts (5) that hold the roller shaft in the bracket. 5. Fasten a hoist to tool (B) and put tool (B) in position under the carrier roller. Remove the carrier roller from the bracket. The weight of the carrier roller is 115 lb. (52 kg).Install Track Carrier Rollers
1. Put the carrier roller in position with tool (A) and a hoist.2. Make sure the two dowels in the collar of the carrier roller are in alignment with the holes in the bracket. Push the roller shaft in the bracket until the roller is in alignment with the sprocket and front idler. Tighten the two bolts that hold the roller shaft in the bracket. 3. Use tool (B) to lower the track on to the roller and remove tool (B). 4. Install guards (1), (2) and (3) on the track roller frame.5. Make an adjustment of the track. start by:a) remove track carrier roller 1. Remove ring (1). Remove collar (2) from the roller. 2. Remove the Duo-Cone seal (3) from the collar.3. Remove the Duo-Cone seal from the roller. 4. Turn the roller over. Remove the three bolts that hold cover (4) to the roller. Remove the cover from the roller. Remove the seal from the cover. 5. Remove two bolts (5), lock (7) and plate (6) from the end of the shaft. 6. Install tooling (A) and remove shaft (8) from the roller. Remove the seal from the shaft. 7. Remove the bearing cone from the shaft with tooling (B). 8. Remove the two bearing cups (9) from the roller with a hammer and a punch.Assemble Track Carrier Rollers
1. Lower the temperature of bearing cups (1). Install the bearing cups in the roller. 2. Heat bearing cone (2) to a maximum temperature of 275° F (135° C). Install the bearing cone on shaft (3) as shown.3. Install the shaft and bearing cone in the roller. 4. Heat bearing cone (4) to a maximum temperature of 275°F (135°C). Install the bearing cone on the shaft. 5. Install plate (5), lock (7), and bolts (6) in the end of the shaft. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 32 5 lb.ft (43 7 N m). Bend the lock over the bolts. No shims are used for bearing preload. 6. Put seal (8) in a mixture of soap and
