Assembly Procedure
Note: Put clean oil on all parts before assembly.

Install bearing (6) in the plate. Check that the bearing is even with face (A). Also, check that the bearing extends approximately 0.70 mm (0.028 inch) above face (B) .
Install the bearing cups in bracket (5) .
Install wave washers (4), bearing cone (3), bracket (5), bearing cone (2) and snap ring (1) on the pin.

Put the lever and link assembly (7) in position on the plate assembly, and install snap ring (8) that holds the lever in place.

Put steer cam (10) in position on the roller in lever (11). Install roller (9) and the snap ring that holds the steer cam in place. Move arm (12) of the spring behind roller (9). To put tension on the spring, move the other arm behind the boss on lever (11) .

Put lever (11) in position on the shaft in servo stem lever (14). Install snap ring (13) that holds the lever in place. Tighten plunger (15). Loosen the plunger by rotating 1/4 turn.

Put the steer cam assembly in position on the bracket. Check that hole (16) is in alignment with roll pin (17). Also, check that pin (19) is in alignment with groove (18). Install the two bolts that hold the steer cam in place.
Do steps 1 through 7 again for the other half of the power control unit linkage.

Position spacer (21) in centering spring (22). Install the centering spring in plate assembly (26), and install bolt (20) and the locknut.
Position spacers (23) correctly. Install bolt (24) and locknut (25) .

Install spacers (31), bolt (27) and the locknut on synchronous link (32) .
Put synchronous link (32) in the correct position. Check that the spacers are between the centering springs. Install bolt (30) and snap ring (28). Install bolt (29) and the locknut.

Position servo valve stem (33) on the power control unit linkage. Install spring (35) in counterbore (34) in the lever. Install the other servo valve stem.

Install the spring washer on bolt (36). Install the bolt in servo valve stem (33). Install the other bolt and install the wave washer in the remaining servo valve stem.
Do not use an allen wrench to tighten detents (37) or (38). Install another nut on the detent, and use the two nuts to tighten the detents. The small allen screw in the detent is used to hold the spring in the detent under compression. If the small allen screw is turned in the detent, the detent will not work correctly.
Tighten adjustment screw (39) to the initial position. Hand tighten detent assembly (37) until screw (39) is tight. Tighten the locknut on detent (37) .
Do step 15 again for adjustment screw (40) and detent (38) .,, End By:
Install the internal hydrostatic power control unit linkage. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydrostatic Power Control Unit Linkage (Internal) - Install".
